This is a very strong piece! As a neurodivergent person I can sing a wonderful song of missunderstandings and judgement and all the other great things! I find it difficult to find solid ground and to know where I belong! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

I'm really glad this resonated with you especially for someone living with Neurodivergence.

True we find ourselves fighting in multiple fronts . The wise work is to find a footing, a ground as you said, from which you can survive, live and finally thrive ✨

Thank you for reading ✨🖤✨

thought provoking..loved it, and I can relate , living in a country and culture that is not my own. Belonging has been a lifelong battle in my mind.

I am glad this resonated with you. I feel you, and in this modern age, most of us can't find a place were they truly feel a sense of belonging. Sometimes even living in your own country doesnt give you a sense of belonging if the dominant culture isnt aligned with you.

Thank you for reading, Noor :))

so true 😌 and its only the moments that you remember the Divine, and how you’re not meant to truly belong anywhere here, that the war in the mind can actually subside or soften

There’s something painfully real in the idea of a “floating identity.”

Not fully belonging to what formed you, but not fully belonging elsewhere either.

Sometimes people survive exactly in that suspended space, carrying fragments of languages, histories, values, and selves that no longer fit cleanly into one place.

Not every identity is meant to feel fixed.

It is truly painful. Facundo Cabral, an Argentinian poet has a poem that starts with " I am not from here, Nor am I from there.." I agree completely with you in the feeling of being pulled from both while belonging to neither. And yes, you survive, but carrying dispersed fragments of various cultures. Thank you so much, for reading :)

Hi, my name is Kasu and I have a floating identity. Where do I sign to have a support group?

The stranger's avatar

Hi Kasu! You can join Floating Identities Anonymous. But join quickly so others won't know our secret!

Thank you for reading <3

Who knows what the impact of war has throughout the generations - the trauma pre birth, and its impact thereafter. It’s much more than nature versus nurture.

The stranger's avatar

Yes wars and any sort of oppresion from colonialism to modern day oppressions leave a footprint in our DNA. I agree the severity of impact is drastic! Thank you for reading :)

I just read an article about people labeling Kanye West as a narcissist but his reality tends more to misunderstood genius, this one the specific characteristic that made people having a very difficult life just because life just because they're different. I don't think people were meant to live only on a specific land or space. We're created for more than that. And the animals give us a vivid example. When it's time to migrate they go on unknown locations. It's the same for us to know when it's time to go bring our lights to others and learn from them. Each of us has something to share to the world whether we're ready or not.

The stranger's avatar

Absolutely. People aren't lving with the same baseline of conditions. For many, the starting point is below zero, while others get handed life in a platter of silver. Looking at nature can truly offer a view on how society should look like.

Thank you for reading, Benlec :)
